The pizza and wings were well worth the wait. A few minutes after we expected our order delivered, we received a call telling us there was a mix up and our order was sent to someone else, so delivery would be a bit longer.
I get things happen and was fully braced for delivery of food that received an extended tour of Ottawa. What was received was a fresh order from an incredible young man that explained the mixup.
Will absolutely keep Gabriel's on my short list of places to order from again. -

We have been to Gabriel a few times now and kids
love this place. So when the birthday meal came up, this place was selected.
Never been for lunch/brunch at GP. There were some breakfast options available but we selected the lunch menu. The all time favourite Mediterranean Agnolotti, Pizza and Pasta (Fettuccine Alfredo), Vegetarian Wrap and a new dish that we hadn't tried a Spaghetti Al Forno but with no meat sauce; baked with cheese.
The Agnolotti is just as amazing we have always had. The pizza and pasta is again the same and both get 5/5. The Spaghetti Al Forno was just the perfect pasta dish we have tried. The sauce rich and perfectly seasoned. The pasta cooked perfectly and the cheese on top was a cherry on top. The Wrap was good as well, however I wish that there are some protein choices or some non dairy choices on pizzas.
The location is good and we were lucky that the day was good and even though seated inside all the doors and windows were open. Limited parking nearby but that is expected on Bank Street downtown. -

Great tasting pizza! Ordered a thin crust pizza and it was very good. They do go heavy on the cheese which I like and based on reviews I've read I did not order my pizza with extra cheese. Highly recommended!!

Gabriel's has good pizza! It's heavy - there's a LOT of cheese - but sometimes it's what you want. The pizza is expensive, but it isn't overpriced*. If I want heavy pizza, I get Gabriel's (with crispy bacon on top, yum) - if I want something lighter I go to 1 for 1 across the street! And that's lighter in actual weight, not in calories...
*Used to work at an Italian restaurant that sold pizza like this. Cheese is expensive, people!! And it seems like real (ish) cheese as opposed to the more plastic, less flavour stuff you'll find at other joints. Damn right a pizza place that layers a quarter inch of cheese is going to be pricier than the thin layers most places have... -

It's a shame that the people of Ottawa think that this is the best pizza their city could offer them. It is overpriced for no discernible reason, and what deals they do have are misleading and not worth it unless you're ready to spend $30 on a depressing portion.
It's not the worst slice of pizza ever made, but it shouldn't continue to be heralded as the best either. The quality, structure, taste, balance, and price are all mediocre. I personally consider their crust to be too thick. Which, when considered alongside their mistreatment of the very important cheese/sauce ratio, throws the entire pizza off balance and into irrefutable chaos.
They also refused to substitute "double cheese" as an extra topping. That was what brought them from a 3-star review to a 2-star for me. A little goes a long way, Gabriels. You should think about changing your limited pizza world-view and give me the freedom to create the cheesy-pizza I desire. You're holding back true pizza innovation with the militant rigidity of your rule-following and your high prices and I won't stand for it any longer.
